The VCU Department of Emergency Medicine has a 2-year, combined clinical ultrasound/resuscitation fellowship program open to Board Certified or Eligible Residency-Trained Emergency Physicians. Successful applicants are required to be fully licensed physicians in the United States who have trained at a high-volume, high-acuity Level 1 Department of Emergency Medicine.
Fellows will be expected to work a limited number of shifts as an attending physician in the VCU Department of Emergency Medicine. The remainder of time will be spent on various critical care rotations, performing basic science and/or clinical research, and completing the ultrasound fellowship requirements to attain national certification upon completion of the program. An advanced degree option (i.e., Master’s or PhD) from VCU is also available as part of the fellowship training program.
